Emily and Taylor’s El Matador Engagement Session in Malibu was so much fun to capture! These two are tying the knot in Virginia later this year, but flew out to California to shoot their engagement photos with me because they wanted a unique backdrop for their session. They wanted something that differed from their hometowns and Malibu definitely fit the bill!

Although it drizzled and was a little cold, E + T didn’t let that stop them from having the best time. And, as a result, we lucked out because this normally very popular beach, typically filled with locals, tourists and other photographers, was completely empty!

We started this session at an Airbnb in the Hollywood hills where I captured a few shots of Emily + Taylor getting ready for the shoot. Then, we headed to one of my absolute favorite spots for engagement sessions in Malibu. A secret field with the most amazing backdrop and view.

I really liked Emily + Taylor’s outfits and color palette! Her mauve maxi dress popped against the greens and brown’s found in the terrain of the Malibu hills. Taylor looked stylish in blue + tan. Perfect neutral hues that always work well on camera!
